Williamson-Hall based X-ray peak profile evaluation and nano-structural characterization of rod-shaped hydroxyapatite powder for potential dental restorative procedures

In the present paper, nanometer scale hydroxyapatite powders with a rod-like shape, were prepared using combined ultrasonic and microwave heating-based method. Subsequent annealing of as-synthesized at 800 ℃ for 2 h produced nanoparticles rectangular granular morphology. The particles characterized X-ray diffraction Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy methods. Also, nanoparticle size morphology investigated transmission electron microscopy field emission scanning microscopy. A comparable selected area (SAED) analysis also showed results in line powder patterns. resulting peaks indicated that highly crystalline nature no impure phases present. data, was used to study effects peak broadening by Williamson–Hall (W–H) technique. uniform deformation model (UDM), stress (USDM) energy density (UDEDM) determine physical parameters like crystallite size, lattice strain, density. W-H found be obtained from studies. Importantly, studies confirmed synthesized nano- had morphologies similar those dental hard tissues.
